Encouragement: Just a Few Scriptures in a Short Note

While in the shower this morning I began to repeat portions of the top two scriptures and became encouraged. The third I found searching for the other two.

I confess – I am struggling. In the last 3 months on top of dealing with a pandemic, my mother’s hospitalization, family members acting out and against me, a car accident, the grant I work with ending, starting a new contract, along with learning to balance 3 jobs and give a 14 year old some guidance – my house was flooded. (Yeah, the flood was definitely a doozy and unexpected situation .)

I don’t want to play the “victim” – but I admit I am overwhelmed.

The scriptures below are encouraging me. I hope they encourage you too.

“Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you. Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world. But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you. To him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.”
‭‭1 Peter‬ ‭5:6-11‬ ‭KJV

“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you. And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.”
‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭29:11-13‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee: He shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.”
‭‭Psalm‬ ‭55:22‬ ‭KJV‬‬
